Kurokawa Onsen is a highly popular secret hot spring in Kyushu that is rarely disturbed by group travelers. Before 2000, Kurokawa Onsen was an undeveloped hot spring! The spring quality of Kurokawa Onsen is sodium chloride sulfate spring, and the temperature of the spring is about 80-100 degrees Celsius.
The Japan Environment Agency divides the existing springs in Japan into 10 types, and among these 10 types, Kurokawa Onsen brings together as many as seven types of springs. It was listed as a two-star hot spring area in the 2009 "Michelin Travel Guide Japan".
