A charming hot spring town - Kurokawa

#2024 Travel Review
Kurokawa Onsen is a highly popular secret hot spring in Kyushu that is rarely disturbed by group travelers. Before 2000, Kurokawa Onsen was an undeveloped hot spring! Kurokawa is embraced by greenery-shrouded forests, and in the quiet, quaint atmosphere one can’t help but slow down and enjoy the healing time of the hot springs in the mountain city. Surrounded by lush green mountains, it is a rural hot spring town. The spring quality of Kurokawa Onsen is sodium chloride sulfate spring, and the temperature of the spring is about 80-100 degrees Celsius.
The Japan Environment Agency divides the existing springs in Japan into 10 types, and among these 10 types, Kurokawa Onsen brings together as many as seven types of springs. It was listed as a two-star hot spring area in the 2009 "Michelin Travel Guide Japan". Kurokawa Onsen boasts a variety of hot spring hot springs: cave bath, beauty bath, standing bath, waterfall bath, bamboo soup. . . The winter-only festival Kurokawa Onsen Yumei Bamboo Lantern Festival has been lit up until the end of March.
