What you can do with 3 days at Miyazaki, Japan

We decided to rent a car and drove up to Miyazaki from Kagoshima so that we could drop by more locations! But this post will only cover places within Miyazaki - for full itinerary of our trip, maybe when we are done with the trip (because it's still on-going 😆)

So here's what you can do if you have 3 days at Miyazaki!

DAY 1: DAY TRIP TO UDO JINGU
(Only do this if you drive!)
Udo Jingu is sooo spectacular! I so love the sight of the sea!! We reached there (after leaving Kagoshima and stopping by 2 other places) at around 4+ in the late afternoon/evening so the sun and all was just *chefs kiss*

DAY 2: EXPLORE MIYAZAKI
1. Miyazaki Jingu
2. Peace Tower Park
3. Miyazaki Station
In no particular order, but do take note of the operating hours - especially for the Peace Tower Park, they close around 5pm. (and more importantly bus timings, their last bus leaves the park before 6pm!) We were supposed to be able to enter the Peace Tower, but it was closed due to the rain.

We walked from Miyazaki Jingu to the Peace Tower Park, it is.... (kind of walkable) especially since we were walking in some light rain, but there is this long flight of stairs that we had to go up - so an alternative is to take the bus up! But their frequency may be one bus per hour, so do check their schedule! Same for the buses leaving the park 😊

We left Miyazaki Station for the last because that was the most convenient route for us (to go back to the hotel) and also the malls and stores around there open till later (past 8pm).

DAY 3: AOSHIMA
1. Aoshima Beach (while walking to Aoshima Shrine)
2. Aoshima Shrine
3. Miyako Botanic Garden Aoshima
We headed to Aoshima from Miyazaki station by train - again, the train runs once every hour so do take note of the train schedule! The train ride is around 30-ish minutes.

We grabbed lunch once we arrived at Aoshima Station, then walked to the Aoshima Shrine. You'll pass by the Aoshima Beach before reaching the shrine as the shrine is on an island. You can spend some time on the beach then cross over to the shrine (or vice versa).

After that, we went to Miyako Botanic Garden Aoshima. Went to visit the greenhouses and chilled at the cafe there while waiting for our train back to Miyazaki. Again, the train runs once every hour, so do remember to check ahead!
