3 Best Views of Japan: Amanohashidate

3 Best Views of Japan: Amanohashidate (Amanohashidate Sand Dunes)

For those who plan to visit Kyoto for 1 day, I recommend Amanohashidate.
It's a bit far from Kyoto city, but the view is very beautiful. It's worth it!🧡

⛰️There are 2 sides to go up to see the view.⛰️

The one we went to was Amanohashidate Viewland.
We had to do the pose of 股のぞき (which is the pose where you look between your legs). We will see that it looks like a dragon is flying in the sky! (飛龍観)

The other side is Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park.
If we do the pose of 股のぞき (which is the pose where you look between your legs), we will see that it looks like a dragon is flying up in the sky! (昇龍観)
We didn't go to this part. It's a pity that we didn't have enough time.
But if anyone has time, you can walk there. It should take about 30 minutes. Or you can ride a bicycle.

💴Entrance fee: Free

💴Ski Lift・Monorail (round trip):
Adults 1,000 yen, children (elementary school) 500 yen

🚃Transportation:
There are several ways to get there. The recommended ones are:
① Hashidate Limited Express Train (Kyoto Tango Railway):
You can board at Kyoto Station and get off at Amanohashidate Station.
It takes about 2 hours to get there.

However, be careful about the bus schedule, as there are not many buses per day.

② Tankai Express Bus:
You can board at several bus stops. The first bus stop is at Kyoto Station.
You can take this bus and get off at Amanohashidate.
You also have to be careful about the schedule, as there are not many buses per day.
(We missed the Hashidate Limited Express Train, so we had to choose to take the Tankai Express Bus instead.)

After enjoying the view, You can walk to Chionji Temple to worship.
I got to draw fortune sticks from a cute cat.
