Day Trip to Amanohashidate & Ine Fishing Bay

Booked a day trip to Amanohashidate and Ine Fishing Village that provided options to pick / drop off from Osaka or Kyoto.

We started early morning and met the guide at Osaka pick up point at 730am. It was very fuss-free as the guide was very fluent in Mandarin and speaks English as well.

The bus ride was 1 hour from Osaka to Kyoto, and another 1.5 hours to Amanohashidate. The weather was hot but nice.

We took the chair lift up and down but the elderly folks and those who are afraid of heights have the option of taking the cable car instead.

Once on the top , the view was splendid! There were also some rides like the bike ride , bumper car at 400 yen ride.
The bike ride was definitely worth it as the view got even better from the top.

We had some time for a quick lunch before it was time for departure. We didn’t have time for the turning bridge and shrine that the guide mentioned. 😭

The bus ride to the fishing village was about 30 mins.
At the fishing bay, we took the boat ride to feed the seagulls. The seagulls and eagles were chasing around the boat but mostly ate the food that was thrown into the water by the tourist and not from our hands.

The village was very peaceful and pretty. There was a shop for you to try some ice cream and lemonade. They also sell the different snacks for you to bring back as gifts.

After the boat ride, we went to the Ineura Park to visit the boathouses. There was a tourist information centre which sold fresh berries and some jam!

Exploring around the place, we were also able to visit a funaya (boathouse) at a small fee of 200 yen ! It was surprisingly cooling inside.

We ended the day by alighting at Kyoto instead of Osaka as we wanted to shop around at Nishiki Market and have dinner. The drop off at Kyoto was around 5 pm.

Overall a great experience and didn’t involve a lot of walking !
