"Iya" in Tokushima, Shikoku, has always been known as one of the three most secret places in Japan. This time I stayed in a hot spring hotel in Iya Gorge for one night, and the next day I set off for the nearby famous attraction "Oboke Gorge".
Does the name sound dangerous? In fact, it is because of the inconvenient transportation in the mountainous areas in the early days, and one had to climb mountains and wade through water, which was dangerous at every step, so it got the name "big steps are dangerous, small steps are also dangerous." Now it seems that it is not dangerous at all, but just a rapid flow in the beautiful canyon.
Oboke is a large canyon formed by the rapids of the Yoshino River. It is about 8 kilometers long and is famous for its marble-like rocks and V-shaped canyon landforms. The best way to visit, besides walking, is to take a cruise to experience the rapids of the canyon!
No matter which experience you choose, you must wear sunscreen, otherwise there is no shelter in the canyon and you will be baked into a black man!
