Taiwan Sun Moon Lake｜The Most Beautiful Hostel! Comparable to Hotel Level.

Sun Moon Lake is filled with luxury hotels, but where should budget-conscious backpackers stay? This time, we're introducing the newly opened Owl Hostel, which is a backpacker hostel with capsule rooms that look as exquisite as a hotel from the outside!

Owl Hostel is located next to the old street of the Ita Thao tribe, offering great convenience. Having stayed here for over a week as a work-exchange guest, I was pleasantly surprised by the environment, service, and the friendly staff! Today, let me give you a tour.

▶️ Rooms

The rooms offer high security and privacy. Besides needing a card to access the room, each individual capsule also requires a card to enter, and you need to unlock it from the inside to exit.

The details in the rooms are very thoughtful. For instance, soundproofing material is installed between each capsule, ensuring a high level of privacy. You won't disturb your neighbors whether you're turning over in bed or passing gas! The mattresses are 10 cm latex, making it hard to get up once you lie down! Additionally, each room has a full-length mirror so you can get ready before heading out.

Each room has a different color scheme. The third floor where I stayed is blue and green, while the female floor is a softer purple.

▶️ Bathrooms

Each floor has 5 bathrooms and 2 toilets, and the space is quite large.

▶️ Kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary cooking tools, so you can showcase your culinary skills here. You can even choose beautiful plates for plating. Tea and coffee are self-serve, so you don't need to spend money on drinks. (Drinks in Sun Moon Lake are quite pricey.)

▶️ Lobby and Common Area

The common area in the hostel is very spacious, so those who don't want to stay in their rooms have plenty of places to go. The lounge in the lobby has a big TV for watching Netflix, and the sound system is top-notch, making it feel like a cinema when the lights are off!

If you don't want to watch movies, there's a cabinet with various board games like Dixit, Werewolf, and 6 Nimmt. When there are many people, the staff often organize games, making it very lively!

▶️ Rooftop

Besides the lounge, you can also go to the rooftop to get some fresh air! The rooftop is mainly decorated in beige. The hostel is situated on high ground and has six floors, offering a great view. With such facilities and scenery, you might think you're at a resort.

The rooftop faces west, perfect for watching the sunset. During magic hour, I always rush to the rooftop to take photos. The space is very spacious, so you don't have to worry about disturbing others. You can take your time to get the perfect shot!

Additionally, the washing machines and dryers are also on the rooftop. The hostel thoughtfully provides baskets, making it easy to move your clothes to your room downstairs. (And watching the sunset while doing laundry is so relaxing!)
