Journey into Sisley's Landscape: The Old Mill of Moret-sur-Loing

Just a short drive away from the Palace of Fontainebleau, you'll find yourself in the serene and picturesque village of **Moret-sur-Loing**, which feels like something out of a fairy tale.

Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Paris and the grandeur of the palace, I was able to immerse myself in the peaceful charm of this countryside village.

The first thing that caught my eye was the **Old Mill of Moret (Le Vieux Moulin de Moret)**, which seemed to float like a painting on the river. This medieval stone structure sits atop the Loing River, its reflection perfectly mirrored on the crystal-clear water below. The sight was so captivating that I found myself staring at it in awe for quite some time.

Interestingly, this place was beloved by the French Impressionist painter **Alfred Sisley**, who spent his later years in this village. He painted countless scenes of the mill, the river, the bridge, and the village itself. Perhaps that's why every view here feels like stepping into one of his masterpieces.
