Mukdahan, a slow-life city, quiet on the banks of the Mekong River

A 2-day, 1-night trip
During this rainy season, my friends and I headed to Mukdahan.
🕹️ Our first stop was Huai Sing In Love, a cafe located on a reservoir. The view of the mountains and river was fantastic. It was a great place to chill until evening. The shop closed late.
However, the entrance to the cafe wasn't in good shape, likely due to road erosion and potholes. Improvements were needed.
They offer both savory and sweet dishes. Personally, I found the drinks a bit too sweet, but the atmosphere was worth it. After recharging at the cafe, we continued on to...
There's parking for about 4-5 cars.
2. 🕹️ Kiang Savan 🏡 A super chill place to stay on the banks of the Mekong River. The atmosphere is very shady. The brown wood decorations are interspersed with trees and a green garden. The highlight is the lawn. It's suitable for all ages. There are many room types. Whether you're planning a meeting, this place is ready to accommodate you. My friends and I chose a house with a double bed. The room was well-designed, not as cramped as it looked online. The bathroom was spacious, with a separate shower and bathtub. The bed was comfortable and soft.
In the evening, the sunset was spectacular. In the morning, bicycles were available for rent. In front of the accommodation, there's a road along the Mekong River, perfect for cycling to enjoy the cool evening. But we didn't wake up. 🤭
The room we got was just a few hundred baht, so worth it. Even better, the breakfast was OMG! They served a huge portion of rice soup, salad, and fried eggs.
What really impressed me was that I had a headache and asked for some receptor medication, and the service was excellent.
3. 🕹️ Walking Street along the Mekong River. We went there for dinner. We were originally going to have moo kata (grilled pork), but it was raining, so we looked for a place with indoor seating.
We ended up at Charoen Restaurant. 🍣 A restaurant with live music. 🎸 We ordered pla jum (fish fondue) and seafood salad (spicy seafood salad) and fried rice. We couldn't finish it because it was so much. The fish was fresh and didn't smell fishy.
After we were full, we went back to our accommodation. That was the end of the day.
On the morning of the second day, we took photos around the accommodation. There were flower gardens and a lawn; the lighting was great for taking photos. Then we went into the city, checked in at cafes, and then went back. That was the end of the trip. This trip was really focused on sleeping; our plan wasn't tight. 🤭
