From the Kumano Kodo to Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine and Seiganto-ji Temple

I walked up the Daimonzaka slope of the Kumano Kodo to the World Heritage site of Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine wearing a Heian period costume.

It took about two and a half hours by car from Nanki Shirahama Airport to Daimonzaka Chaya, the entrance to Daimonzaka.
It was nice to drive along the sea.

The Heian period costume rental shop is Daimonzaka Chaya.

Rental times are 1-4 hours, hourly, and if you are going round trip to Nachi Taisha Shrine, I recommend 4 hours.

It is surrounded by cedar trees and has a very nice atmosphere, but you just have to climb the stairs.
After about 20 minutes of climbing, you will arrive at the entrance to Nachi Taisha Shrine.

There are routes to Kumano Nachi Taisha by car or bus, but the walking route from Daimonzaka involves climbing a lot of stairs.

I recommend using a car or bus to conserve your energy.

I was very tired from climbing the stairs, but when I saw Nachi Falls from Seiganto-ji Temple, it was beautiful and I felt very pure.
