[Wakayama] Nachi Falls

Nachi Falls is one of the three most famous waterfalls in Japan. It is very mystical, and the waterfall itself is enshrined as the object of worship at Kumano Taisha Shrine.

It is elegant even when viewed from afar, but it is truly impressive when seen up close. It cost 300 yen to climb up to the viewing platform where you can worship from the closest point, but it was good because I could take my time and see it up close.

It is accessible by bus from JR Kii-Katsuura Station. The beautiful moss-covered grounds of Kumano Taisha Shrine have many stairs, so it is essential to wear comfortable, non-slip shoes.
