Visiting Zenkoji Temple is fun even on the way back!

Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture. It's a very large temple with numerous lodgings and affiliated shrines.
After paying your respects at the main hall and praying to the Buddhas at each temple, you can head back along the Zenkoji approach to the temple, stopping off at souvenir shops and eateries.
In fact, it might be a good idea to do that on the way there.
