There are 18 Komagatake in Japan. Two of them, Kai Komagatake and Kiso Komagatake, are located in the Japanese Alps. They are located in the east and west of the mountain. Kiso Komagatake, located in the west, is relatively close to the public. There is a cable car station from Shirahidaira Station at the foot of the mountain to Senjoshiki Station, the highest cable car station in Japan. The view of the Senjoshiki Valley at the top of the mountain is 10,000 meters high. Formed 5,000 years ago by glacial erosion, the valley is surrounded by mountains on three sides and the peaks are within easy reach. The valley nourishes up to 150 species of alpine plants. In autumn, the maple leaves adorn the mountains, making the scenery of Kiso-Koma-dake even more spectacular. The 40-minute walking trail allows you to easily capture the maple leaves in the valley. Of course, you can also choose to climb to the top to overlook the magnificent maple scenery formed by the continuous peaks.
