Nagasaki Hollandzaka is located in Higashiyamate-cho, Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture. It is a sloping road paved with stone slabs and an important historical and cultural attraction in Nagasaki City. The name of the Dutch Slope comes from the Edo period, when Nagasaki was the only port open to the outside world in Japan. The Dutch often lived and worked here, so this slope is also called the "Dutch Slope".
There are many Western-style buildings on both sides of Holland Hill, including Katsumizu University, Higashiyamate 12th Building, Higashiyamate 13th Building, Showakai Hospital, etc. These buildings were built between the late 19th and early 20th centuries and bear witness to the development of Western culture in Nagasaki.
Holland Hill is a famous tourist attraction in Nagasaki City and a popular spot for taking wedding photos. Visitors can stroll here, appreciate the charm of Western architecture, and feel the romance of Western culture.
