I Ran to Ioujima! Nagasaki's Hidden Gem! 🏃‍♀️🏝️

#summervacay
I just had an incredible experience running all the way to Ioujima (伊王島)! This secluded island near Nagasaki City is truly a hidden gem, famous for its relaxing hot springs, beautiful natural scenery, and super chill resort vibe.

Basic Info about Ioujima:

Location: It's conveniently located about 6 kilometers west of Nagasaki Port and is connected to the mainland by the Ioujima Bridge, making access really easy.

Name Origin: Legend has it that an ancient prince (Iou) once lived in seclusion here, which is how the island got its name.

Main Features & Attractions:

Amazing Hot Springs!
Ioujima is renowned for its salt-rich hot springs. The high salt content in the water is fantastic for moisturizing and retaining warmth, making it perfect for a relaxing soak. There are several hot spring inns and resort hotels on the island, like "Ioujima Shimayado Hakusuikan." I actually made a spontaneous decision to try a hot spring that only cost 800 yen – super cheap, and I didn't need to bring anything at all!

Ioujima Beach!
The Shirahama Beach (白良浜海水浴场) boasts a fine, white sand beach. In the summer, it's a popular spot for swimming and sunbathing.

It sounds like I found a really unique and relaxing escape right near Nagasaki!
