This is Nittaiji Temple in Kakuozan, Nagoya.
Kakuozan Station is about 15 minutes by train from Nagoya Station.
There is a path leading to the temple from the station, where you can eat dumplings such as mitarashi dango while walking around. There are soft-serve ice cream shops, cream puff shops, and other old-fashioned shops as well as new shops lined up.
I went there on a Sunday, and compared to the number of people at Nagoya Station, there were only a few tourists, so it is a recommended town for those who want to avoid the crowds and enjoy sightseeing in the laid-back streets, eating, gourmet food, and shopping.
And Nittaiji Temple in Kakuozan is a temple with ties to Japan and Thailand. It is a very large place, so it is easy to go with children. You can buy incense and fortune-telling slips before worshiping. Many Thai people come to worship at this temple.
