Nagoya Castle: A Landmark of the Warring States Period

Nagoya Castle is considered one of the most famous tourist attractions in Nagoya City. Originally built in 1525, the castle's Honmaru Palace and the main and smaller keeps were destroyed during World War II. The Honmaru Palace was later reconstructed and completed in 2017. Inside the Honmaru Palace, the splendid and luxurious folding screens and wall paintings are truly breathtaking. However, another major highlight of Nagoya Castle, the "Tenshukaku" (main keep), is currently not open to the public.
