#TravelJapan During the Edo period (1603-1868), Nagoya was one of the most important castle towns. Nagoya Castle was the residence of the Owari Tokugawa clan, one of the three Tokugawa clans eligible for shogunate. Nagoya Castle also served as the front line of defense during the war against Osaka.
By subway: Take the Higashiyama Line from Nagoya Station to Sakae Station, then transfer to the Meijo Subway Line to Shiyakusho Station. From Exit 7, it's a 5-minute walk.
