For those who want to enjoy a relaxed trip to Okinawa, even on a short schedule. This article introduces a 2-day, 1-night trip we actually took. It's a plan that allows you to fully enjoy history, nature, city walks, and even a slightly unique transportation option.
🏝️ Day 1: Relaxing sightseeing after arrival
○ Naminoue Shrine
This shrine sits atop a cliff in Naha City. Its vermilion shrine building, set against the blue ocean, is a breathtaking spot that truly captures the essence of Okinawa. A visit here at the start of your trip will calm your soul.
○ Chatan American Village
In the evening, head to the Chatan area. The exotic American Village is a popular spot for shopping, dining, and illuminations. The beach at sunset is also recommended, allowing you to enjoy a relaxed, Okinawan-style experience.
🌞 Day 2: Strolling around the city before heading home
○ Stroll along Kokusai Street
Browse for souvenirs and sample local delicacies on Naha City's main street, Kokusai Street. There's also a nearby market with a local vibe, allowing you to fully experience the charm of Okinawa to the very end.
○ Pokémon Monorail
The "Yui Rail" that runs through Naha City features cute Pokémon-themed train cars. Even the travel time became a fun memory.
📍 Access Tips
The Yui Rail is convenient for getting from Naha Airport to the city.
Chatan is about a 40-minute car or bus ride from Naha City.
Kokusai Street is just a short walk from the Yui Rail's "Kencho-mae Station."
Even with a short schedule, this two-day trip packed full of Okinawa's unique nature, culture, and city walks. It was a relaxing plan that allowed for plenty of sightseeing.
