Kinjo Ohikawa is an old communal well located at the back of Kinjomuraya, halfway along the stone-paved roads of Kinjo-cho, Shuri. Although it is called a well, it is not a dug well, but rather a well that draws water from a water vein deep in the bedrock through a gutter. The beautifully built, sturdy-looking Hiikawa (Hija) has the atmosphere of having been carefully protected as a precious water source.
