Okinawa Tourism Sakiyama Baba Gallery

While walking through Sakiyamacho, Shuri, I came across a stone monument for the "Sakiyama Baba Gallery." The monument read, "Hijiga Villa Mai, a Historical Walking Trail," so I looked it up. Apparently, the name "Hijiga Villa" comes from the name of a car park halfway up the slope leading from Shuri Castle to the Hiji River Bridge (near the Genkanjo Dam), which was "Hijiga." "Ga" is written in kanji as "river," but also means well or spring. "Bira" means slope. "Mai" means to go around or circumambulate. To go around or tour the town is "machimai."
By the way, "Sakiyama" is not "zakiyama," but "sakiyama," and in the local dialect, it's "sachiyama."
