Biei and Furano One-Day Tour Without Driving

Since I only had one day to explore the Furano area 🫐, I visited the following attractions in mid-June. At 9:40 AM, I departed from Asahikawa Station 🚍 via Dohoku Bus.

1️⃣ After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes of travel, I arrived at Shirogane Onsen. From the nearby bridge, you can overlook the stunning Shirohige Waterfall 🌊. The river water is crystal clear, and the cascading waterfall is truly magnificent. I spent about 15 minutes sightseeing here, and you can also shop or dine at nearby stores.

2️⃣ Next, I took the Dohoku Bus to Shirogane Blue Pond 🏞. The pond's water shifts between blue and green, creating a unique and picturesque view. Surrounded by mountains, the water is calm and reflects the surrounding forest clearly. Unfortunately, the area is quite barren, with only one ice cream shop and no indoor resting spaces.

3️⃣ Finally, I returned to Biei Station via Dohoku Bus. From the station staff, I learned that Shikisai-no-Oka had not yet bloomed, but Tomita Farm was entering its early blooming season 🫐. Since the JR Lavender Field Station only opens from June 14, the most direct route was either a 25-minute walk from Nakafurano Station or a 5-minute taxi ride. Although the lavender was just starting to bloom and most flowers were still waiting, it was still worth a visit.
