Nanchong, a city less visited

A recent visit to the city of Nanchong was a real treat. this city is only around 1.5hrs by high speed train from Chongching and Chengdu but sees very few tourists. We stayed in the Galaxy Tianfu hotel which was very luxurious and great value.
We visited the Xinshan Scenic area by cable car and saw a lovely Buddhist monastery at the top. If we had more time we could have explored the area a bit more as there are lovely shaded trails in the mountain scenic area.
The city is lit beautifully at night, like a mini Chongqing and there are plenty of great restaurants and bars at a very reasonable cost.
The public park by the river has a beautiful Pagoda where you can relax with tea or coffee or get a bite to eat. The larger People's Park is beautifully landscaped and has lots of spots to sit and relax as well as a traditional style tea house.
Nanchong is a great place to visit for a slower pace of Chinese city life with lovely friendly people.
