Niushou Mountain (牛首山) - Nanjing's Buddhist Sanctuary

#discoverchina

Revered as one of China's four great Buddhist mountains, Niushou Mountain blends 1,500 years of spiritual heritage with jaw-dropping contemporary design. Its crown jewel—the Foding Palace—houses one of Buddhism's most sacred artifacts: the parietal bone relic of Sakyamuni Buddha. More than just a pilgrimage site, this is where Tang dynasty poetry collides with futuristic temples.
