Who can relate? Standing in the underground palace of the Fo Ding Palace, I was utterly speechless, overwhelmed by the gilded dome and the thousand-Buddha light show✨ This trip to Jinling was absolutely worth it!
📝 Highlighted Route (Easy Walk Version)
Enter through the East Gate → Take the scenic shuttle for 10 RMB to Tianque Station → Ride the escalator straight to the Sacred Realm of Fo Ding → Explore the Fo Ding Palace → Climb the Fo Ding Pagoda → Exit through the West Gate (optionally enjoy a night stroll in Jinling Old Town on the way)
The entire route relies on shuttles and escalators, making it easy for parents or those with limited stamina to enjoy!
✨ Must-Visit Photo Spots
1. Water Pool Behind Fo Ding Palace: Capture the architecture and its reflection from a low angle for perfect symmetry.
2. Entrance to the 'Sacred Realm of Fo Ding': Use the glass roof to photograph reflections and flip the photo for a 'world upside down' effect.
3. Underground Palace, Level -4: The popular 'door-pushing' spot, where you can take a bird's-eye view of the magnificent Thousand-Buddha Hall.
4. Zen Grand View: Photograph the 360-degree rotating reclining Buddha, with flowing light and shadows creating an atmospheric vibe.
💡 Handy Tips
- Rush in at 8:30 AM when it opens! Avoid the crowds for cleaner shots.
- Wear solid colors or traditional Chinese skirts! They pair perfectly with the red walls and golden domes.
- The underground palace houses intangible cultural heritage crafts like cloisonné and Dongyang wood carvings—don’t miss the exhibitions.
I made a wish before the Buddha, and even the sound of the wind brushing the bell chimes became gentle.
It turns out the Zen spirit of the '480 temples of the Southern Dynasties' truly resides in this mountain🌿
