If March in Nanjing is all about the soft pink and white spring vibes, then April belongs to a new color — a gorgeous shade of pink-purple! 😍💜
This time, we head to Lao Mengtong, the historic district of Nanjing, where ancient streets lined with gray brick buildings are draped in the stunning wisteria, creating a dreamy, almost timeless atmosphere. 🌿🏙 The city’s mix of ancient history and modern creativity is so captivating, with each corner offering a scene that captures the essence of the Six Dynasties' charm. ✨
Here’s where I recommend you visit for the best wisteria sights:
Bian Ying Alley - Wisteria Wonderland
📍 Location: Enter from Lao Mengtong Archway, walk straight along Gukong Alley, then turn left near the Ming City Wall into Bian Ying Alley.
🌿 Highlight: The wisteria drapes down from the eaves of ancient houses like a "purple waterfall" 🌸, wrapping around the stone walls, with the old street adding a historic charm. It's a popular photography spot, perfect for capturing the magical combination of flowers, ancient buildings, and traditional architecture.
📸 Photography Tip: Take shots from below to capture the wisteria against the eaves or shoot along the alley for a beautiful perspective. You can even wear hanfu for an extra touch of ancient elegance! 👘
Zhang Jia Ya - Wisteria Overhead
📍 Location: Close to the Ming City Wall, just walk through the Lao Mengtong Archway and continue towards Zhang Jia Ya.
🌿 Highlight: The wisteria completely covers the roof, with its flowers swaying in the wind, creating a striking contrast with the white walls and gray tiles—an “old-fashioned purple fairy tale” vibe! 🏰
