Banyan Tree Nanjing at Nanjing Garden Expo Park
BANYAN TREE NANJING
As Jiangsu’s first Banyan Tree brand hotel, Banyan Tree Nanjing Garden Expo Park is located in Tangshan Street, Jiangning District, Nanjing, adjacent to the Yunchi Dream Valley area of the Garden Expo Park. Originally an abandoned limestone quarry, it has been meticulously transformed into a cliff hotel built against a sheer rock face, directly facing the magnificent view of the Tangshan abandoned quarry. It is truly a naturally formed "mining valley secret realm," about a 40-minute drive from downtown.
The most stunning feature is the hotel’s transformation of the quarry site! The architectural team did not deliberately cover up the quarry marks; instead, they incorporated the exposed cliff walls and rock textures into the design. The building terraces step down along the cliff, as if growing out of the mountain itself, neither damaging nature nor separate from it, but becoming part of it. The extensive use of floor-to-ceiling windows brings the mining valley, cliffs, and forest indoors, making the space seem to breathe with the shifting light and shadows.
The hotel has a total of 115 rooms and suites, all equipped with scenic balconies and private hot spring pools, with standard rooms starting at 60 square meters. The rooms feature Tangshan hot spring water (certified by both Japan and Europe). The interior design uses mineral gray and natural wood tones as the main palette, combining simplicity with luxury.
The three dining venues each have their own unique character! Mingyue All-Day Dining: offers global buffets and à la carte menus, with freshly baked bread in the morning, local organic vegetable salads, and Nanjing specialty salted duck all made fresh. Baiyun Chinese Restaurant: focuses on Huaiyang cuisine and innovative Jiangnan dishes, using seasonal Tangshan ingredients such as spring bamboo shoots stuffed with pufferfish and autumn crab meat lion’s head meatballs, paired with a rich cellar of aged wines. Cliff Valley Bar: a must-visit at sunset! Enjoy a tipsy moment watching the sunset dye the cliff red—romantic beyond words~
