Packed with people! This place is even more worth visiting than Wutong Avenue

Besides the famous Wutong Avenue, Nanjing Zhongshan Scenic Area also has Linggu Temple, which is even more worth a visit. Linggu Temple has fewer visitors and is quiet; taking a ride while enjoying the scenery on both sides is very pleasant.

This is not only an ancient temple with a history of over a thousand years but also the "Number One Zen Forest in the World" that Emperor Qianlong visited six times during his southern tours. Standing inside the Wuliang Hall and looking up at the six-century-old brick and stone marvel, or leaning on the railing at the top of Linggu Pagoda to overlook the panoramic view of Jinling, every snapshot looks like a cinematic masterpiece.

Wangong Pond → Hongshan Gate → Wuliang Hall → Jinling Osmanthus King → Songfeng Pavilion → Linggu Pagoda → Linggu Mountain House

✨ Route Highlights Explained:
1️⃣ Wuliang Hall
Named because the building is a brick and stone arch structure without using any wood. In 1931, Wuliang Hall was rebuilt as a memorial hall for the soldiers of the National Revolutionary Army who died in battle. Entering the hall, you can feel the solemn and dignified atmosphere.
2️⃣ Linggu Pagoda Top
You need to climb a nine-story spiral staircase to reach the top (the many steps can be tiring). This is an excellent spot to overlook the autumn colors of the entire Zhongshan Scenic Area and the city skyline.
3️⃣ Jinling Osmanthus King
The flower buds have just appeared, and it is estimated to bloom in about two weeks. You might also randomly spot some cats here.
4️⃣ Linggu Mountain House / Vegetarian Noodle House
After the tour, you can rest at the temple; both the vegetarian meals and noodles are quite good.
