Checking in at Le Méridien Nantong | A French Elegance Aesthetic Benchmark
During my road trip around the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai area, I ultimately chose the newly opened Le Méridien over Nantong Marriott. The stay was an aesthetic masterpiece—while some experiences differed from Marriott, the photogenic settings at every turn were truly eye-catching!
1️⃣ Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5/5)
2️⃣ Room:
Highlights: The 92 sqm River View Suite (Room 2722) I stayed in had a layout similar to Zhangjiagang Marriott. It came with a Dyson hairdryer, bedside USB-C ports, and wireless charging—new hotels really excel in these details. The room also featured Le Méridien’s signature blue accents, even down to English dialogue decor on the full-length mirror, showcasing exquisite design.
Note: Another room had a slight renovation smell, but the hotel promptly provided an air purifier, which helped.
3️⃣ Public Areas:
I chose this hotel mainly for its kid-friendly pool. The children’s pool is spacious, though the water temperature was slightly cool.
The executive lounge and breakfast offerings, while not extensive, had their own charm compared to Marriott and met basic needs.
🏘️ Room Types/Layout:
The 92 sqm River View Suite is well-proportioned; the executive-level standard rooms are smaller but practical. All room types reflect Le Méridien’s distinctive design, standing out among peers.
🛌 Amenities/Facilities:
Rooms include Dyson hairdryers, USB-C ports, and wireless charging. Public areas feature a kids’ pool, gym, lounge, etc., catering to diverse guests.
💗 Extra Tips:
- Great for families—the large children’s pool lets kids play freely.
- Highly Instagrammable design, perfect for travel bloggers.
- Afternoon tea and happy hour are unique—time your visit accordingly.
- If sensitive to odors, notify the hotel in advance for preparations.
Verdict:
Le Méridien Nantong shines with its French elegance, making it a top pick for design lovers. The modern facilities and family-friendly amenities impress, and service is commendable. While minor improvements are possible, the overall experience is stellar—ideal for guests seeking unique aesthetics and comfort, whether for the first stay or repeat visits.
