If you live in central Taiwan, a half-day trip to Aowanda to see the maple leaves is sufficient, otherwise it's best to combine it with other itineraries.
Drive to the entrance, and the bald cypress trees on the large lawn are a great spot for taking photos. Then set off, walking along the hillside, with the Qingshui River below. Then cross a bridge, enter the forest trail, go around via a suspension bridge and return to the entrance, which takes about 3 to 4 hours to complete.
Going in autumn, the changing colors of the red, yellow, and green leaves are more interesting.
