Wuling is located at an altitude of 3,275 meters and is the highest road crossing point in Taiwan. It is accessible by car and is a popular spot in the Hehuanshan area. If the weather is good, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the sea of clouds and distant mountains.

🚍Access
Wuling is difficult to access by public transportation, so we recommend renting a car or taking a tour.

- From Taipei/Taichung
- Take a Nantou Bus from Taipei Station or Taichung Station to Qingjing Farm (about 3-4 hours)
- Take a taxi or chartered car from Qingjing Farm for about 1 hour
- Use a tour departing from Taichung for less travel stress and convenience

- From Hualien
- Take a taxi or rental car from Hualien Station for about 3 hours (beware of road restrictions in winter)

⏰ Recommended time of day
- Sunrise (around 5-6am)
- You can often see a beautiful morning glow and sea of clouds
- The temperature is low, so you need to take measures against the cold

- Daytime (around 10-3pm)
- If the weather is good, you can see far into the distance
- It can get crowded, so it's recommended to arrive early

- Dusk (around 4-6pm)
- The sunset is beautiful, but be careful as the temperature drops rapidly after sunset

👔 Temperature and clothing
Because Wuling is at a high altitude, the temperature is significantly lower than on the plains. Especially in winter, it can drop below freezing and snow can accumulate.

- Summer (June to September): The temperature is around 15 to 20°C during the day, but can drop to around 10°C in the morning and evening.
- Winter (December to February): The temperature can drop below 0°C, so cold weather gear is essential.
- Spring and autumn (March to May, October to November): It is often chilly at around 10°C.

⚠️Caution
- Because of the high altitude, there is a possibility of suddenly feeling unwell (altitude sickness). It is a good idea to take deep breaths and move slowly.
- In winter, traffic restrictions may be imposed due to snow accumulation and freezing, so check the road information in advance.
- There are many tourists on weekends and holidays, and the parking lot can be crowded. Visiting early in the morning is relatively smooth.

Wuling is one of the most accessible scenic spots in Taiwan. It is recommended to visit on a nice day with a tour or by car.
