When talking about Sun Moon Lake, many people probably think of taking a scenic boat ride around the lake 🚤 or cycling along a route that was once ranked among the most beautiful cycling routes in the world 🚴. But did you know? Another must-see spot is Wenwu Temple (文武廟).
We took the Round-the-Lake Bus and got off at the Wenwu Temple Stop.
✨ Brief History: Wenwu Temple was built to honor important Chinese deities:
Confucius (god of wisdom and learning),
Guan Yu (god of honesty and courage),
Wenchang (god of examinations and academics).
This temple features beautiful and magnificent traditional Chinese architecture. There's a wide open space offering panoramic lake views. 🌊 If you visit in the afternoon or evening, the view of the sun reflecting off the water is absolutely stunning! 🌅
💡 If you purchase a Sun Moon Lake Pass (which includes bus, boat, and bicycle tickets), it's a great value, as it allows you to ride the bus around the lake as much as you want. 👍
Taking a seat and admiring the lake from the temple while paying respects to the gods is both relaxing and revitalizing. 🌿 If you're visiting Sun Moon Lake, don't forget to put Wenwu Temple on your list!
