Wenwu Temple, the beauty of Sun Moon Lake

When it comes to visiting Sun Moon Lake, one of the most sacred and important landmarks you shouldn't miss is Wenwu Temple (文武廟), an ancient Chinese temple located on a hill on the northern side of the lake. Standing out for its stunning architecture and tranquil atmosphere, it delights both the mind and the eyes.

History and Significance

Wenwu Temple was built in 1938 to enshrine two important deities:
• Guan Yu: Symbol of honesty, courage, and protection
• Confucius: Symbol of wisdom, knowledge, and education

For this reason, the temple is popular with those seeking blessings for academic success, exams, and careers requiring knowledge and wisdom.

Furthermore, Wenwu Temple is considered one of the most important Chinese temples, seamlessly integrating religion, culture, and the faith of Taiwanese people.
