[Nara] Toshodaiji Temple, a historic temple built by Ganjin

#0yenspringtrip
Toshodaiji Temple is a temple with a calm atmosphere in a quiet area of Nara, and when I visited it was the season when the trees were beautifully green. When you enter the temple grounds, the first thing you see is the Golden Hall, a precious building that has retained its Nara period architecture intact. A Buddha statue is quietly placed inside, and you can feel the solemn atmosphere that naturally makes you stand up straight. This temple is known for having been founded by the Tang Dynasty monk Ganjin, and it was very interesting to walk around following in his footsteps. The lecture hall and drum tower are also worth seeing, and I felt that it was a place where time flows particularly quietly, even within Nara. It's not flashy, but the weight of history and the tranquility made my heart relax, and I was able to spend a special time here.
