Huangzhai Ranch, located over 20 kilometers southeast of Mingguang City, Anhui Province, sits on the Yangtze-Huaihe River watershed and covers a total area of 3,400 hectares. Huangzhai Ranch got its name from the Ming Dynasty Nan Taipu Temple, which established Dahuangzhai and Xiaohuangzhai here to raise military horses.
Huangzhai Ranch has a pristine ecology, open terrain and lush vegetation. Due to its special geological conditions, there are few trees, winding hills and undulating ridges, crisscrossing valleys, and vast grasslands. It is the best place to feel and appreciate the grassland scenery of "the sky is vast, the wilderness is boundless, the wind blows the grass low and you can see cattle and sheep."
