While walking through Nara Park, I spotted a vibrant vermilion torii gate as deer leisurely strolled along the path. Today's destination is the World Heritage Site, Kasuga Taisha Shrine.
The first thing that catches your eye upon entering the shrine grounds are the countless stone and hanging lanterns. While the atmosphere is mystical even during the day, the lanterns are said to be even more magical at night. While we visited during the day, the soft light of the grounds naturally soothes the soul.
The shrine building is a vibrant vermilion color and is meticulously cleaned, allowing for a quiet and relaxing experience. As we walked through the grounds, deer suddenly appeared and approached us, seemingly begging for some deer crackers. It was a moment of relaxation.
After praying, I took a leisurely stroll, admiring the sand-stained wisteria. Kasuga Taisha Shrine is more than just a shrine; it feels like a power spot where nature and history come together. It's a place I'd definitely like to visit again if I visit Nara.
