The whirlpool landscape of Japan's Naruto Strait, the "Naruto Whirlpool (Naruto no Uzushio)", is known as one of the three major tidal currents in the world, and is as famous as the Strait of Messina in Italy and the Seymour Strait in Canada. The tides here are turbulent. During the high tides in spring and autumn, huge whirlpools with a diameter of up to 20 meters can be formed, which is a miracle of nature. If you come to Awaji Island for a trip, I highly recommend going to see the Naruto Whirlpools.
Tickets purchased on site are 2500 ¥ (JPY)/person.
You can purchase tickets online. There is no fixed time for the boat to depart. It depends on the date you want to book and the time the store is open.
I was lucky that day and saw the huge whirlpool on the 10:50 flight.
There are currently two ways to see the Naruto Whirlpool: standing on the bridge or taking a boat
1. The whirlpool path: You can stand on a high place and look down. It is 45 meters above the sea surface and is about 450 meters long. You can overlook the entire whirlpool through the transparent glass floor.
2. Take a cruise: Zero distance shock, very close to the whirlpool, without glass blocking, you can experience the ship tilting slightly due to the attraction of the whirlpool
I haven't looked down from a height yet, but I think it's a very good experience to watch it from a cruise ship. After all, it's really rare to be so close to the whirlpool "safely". Haha
