[Tokyo] The beautiful contrast between the pagoda and greenery

Shogakuin Temple

This is a Shingon Buddhism Toyoyama sect temple located in Toshima-minami, Nerima-ku. There is Toyotama Hikawa Shrine next door, and I was curious to see the pagoda from the grounds, so I stopped by.

It was originally founded by Ota Dokan as a branch temple to protect Tenmangu Shrine (a shrine within the grounds of Toyotama Hikawa Shrine), which he revered, when he built Edo Castle.
The contrast between the vermilion pagoda and the greenery is wonderful.
