Guanfengtai, also known as Guanxiangtai, is located on a hill adjacent to the present-day Provincial Party Committee, overlooking the Nanming River. Legend has it that during the Shu Han Dynasty's southern expedition to Zangke, General Ma Zhong stationed his troops there. It was once one of the " Eight Scenic Spots of Guiyang " during the Qing Dynasty , known as " Fengtai Stepping on the Grass . " It was designated a Guiyang Municipal Cultural Relic Protection Site in September 1983 .

Guanfeng Terrace is a picturesque spot. From the terrace, one can gaze out across the vast expanse of the Nanming River and the heavens, a sight unparalleled in the world. This has drawn countless scholars to extol its beauty. During the Cultural Revolution , the temples, pavilions, and towers on the mountain were deemed " Four Olds " and destroyed, leaving only ruins.

In 1980 , the Guiyang Municipal People's Air Defense Committee installed air defense sirens on the mountain and built pavilions and other facilities for tourists to visit.
