Delhi was the final stop of my ten-city tour in India. My primary purpose was to catch a connecting flight and do some leisurely sightseeing, so I didn't pay much attention to many attractions. Most of the time, I just wandered around the city, and India Gate was one of the places I visited on the first night.
India has two India Gates in total, with the other one located in Mumbai. These gates serve as political landmarks, commemorating the British Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for British India during World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War. They are akin to India's "Monument to the People's Heroes."
The India Gate in Delhi is situated on the King's Avenue and cannot be approached closely, as it is surrounded by a fence. Even in the pitch-black night, the security in the area is excellent, given its proximity to the Presidential Residence and other important buildings. 🌃🚶♂️🇮🇳🌏🌆
