Shifen, located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, is a charming mountain town famous for lantern-flying.

★Sights
・Trains running along the tracks
One of the attractions of Shifen Old Street is the sight of trains running right next to the shops lined up along the tracks.
The number of trains is limited to about 1-2 per hour, so it is essential to check the timetable in advance.
・Lantern-flying
The experience of flying a sky lantern with a wish written on it into the sky is also very popular.
There are many lantern shops along the tracks.
Some shops even offer a service to take videos and photos of the moment you fly the lantern.

About an hour and a half by train from Taipei
Change to the Pingxi Line at Ruifang Station and head to Shifen Station.
Other attractions include the beautiful Shifen Waterfall and hiking trails rich in nature.
