Unzen Paradise: A Mountain Retreat Close to Nature

Climbing the mountain, riding the rails, and riding the cable car was the ultimate adventure.
This trip started at Taipei Main Station, taking a long bus to Wulai, a lovely little town nestled in the mountains. Getting off the bus was no ordinary feat: we had to transfer to a small, colorful (though slightly antiquated) tram that zipped along, taking us close to the waterfall. It felt retro, but still enjoyable.
We reached the waterfall area, and it wasn't over yet! Our next mission was to ride the cable car, soaring above the valley. The view was spectacular, with a full view of the waterfall, and the wind swept across our faces. Those afraid of heights might even scream a little.
Upon reaching the top, Wulai Yun Hsien Resort was truly beautiful. The atmosphere was amazing! The air was cool and refreshing, making us feel like we were in a Chinese studio movie. But let me tell you, from the cable car to the resort...it was a walk! We were out of breath and sweating. If you had a friend with us, you'd definitely hear their grumbling. But it was a good way to warm up our legs before the walk up.
Upstairs, there was a beautiful garden, a shady walkway, and the sound of the waterfall was soothing. Every angle is a great photo opportunity. Whether you're strolling, relaxing, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee, it's the perfect escape from the city for a day of fresh air.
In short, the journey and the view are worth it. It's like we're getting a triple-A tour: the old town, the tram, the waterfall, and the cable car. And best of all, you'll get free exercise! 😂
