Miniature models of freshwater monuments at once 🎞️

#September Good Places 2025
The Tamsui Monuments Museum is located at No. 32-2, Lane 6, Section 1, Zhongzheng Road, Tamsui District, New Taipei City. The museum is warm and elegant in design, with various exhibition areas themed around freshwater landmarks or old-time street scenes. It is easy to understand the story of the ancient city without reading long text explanations. The biggest selling point is that it does not charge tickets. It is friendly and convenient. It is suitable for both hipsters and family trips.

Recommended tour route: The museum space is not large, you can reserve about 30-60 minutes to enjoy slowly. After entering, visit the main exhibition area to admire miniature models of the historic buildings including Tamsui Red Hair City, Old Street, and the train station, best suited to quietly observing every detail – as small as a human being done vividly. Then you can go to the small image area in the pavilion to watch a short video of the changes in Freshwater City for a deeper understanding of local history. Finally, some of the walls of the museum regularly display community art creations, adding a touch of local humanity.

Must-play photo spot: The most recommended photo spot Freshwater Red Hair City miniature model, extremely delicate. The exterior of the museum is designed with nostalgic colors, suitable for taking photos of hipsters. The lighting in the room is soft, and the shots are photogenic and atmospheric.

Travel Tip: It only takes about 5 minutes to walk from Tamsui MRT Station, which is extremely convenient. Due to limited space in the museum, it is recommended to avoid peak hours on weekends and public holidays and go quieter on weekdays with more space to slowly enjoy. There is a rule that eating and drinking is not allowed in the museum. Please keep the environment clean and tidy. When you take your children, remember to teach them not to mess with the model to protect everyone's hard work.

Note: The museum is open year-round, weekdays 09:30-17:00, Saturdays and Sundays 09:30-18:00 (entrance closes at 17:30)
