Quick road trip, big vibes! Here’s how I hit New Taipei’s most Instagrammable spots and ate my way through Keelung in one perfect day 🚗📸
Start at Yehliu Geopark (No.167-1, Gangliu East Road, Wanli District, New Taipei City; open 08:00–17:00; entry NT$29). This wild stretch of coast is famous for its crazy rock formations – the Queen’s Head is a must-see! Go early to beat the tour groups and get that clear sunrise shot.
From Yehliu, self-drive to Zhengbin Port Colour Houses in Keelung. The drive has swoon-worthy sea views, so don’t rush it – stop for pics if you want! At Zhengbin, the pastel-painted warehouses are the ultimate backdrop for your Reels and stories.
Next, swing by i Ocean (近海OCEAN), a breezy seaside spot for chilling and photos before heading into Keelung.
Finish strong at Keelung Night Market – a foodie’s dream! Grab crispy fried tempura, bubbling hot tofu pudding, and caramelized “nutritious” sandwiches. Trust me, there’s something here for every craving.
My top tip: Self-driving gives the ultimate flexibility for this route. If you don’t have a car, you can use local taxis or buses, but you’ll miss those spontaneous scenic stops.
Getting Around: Taiwan roads are easy to navigate with Google Maps. Parking is decent at big attractions and at the waterfront.
Food Facts: Keelung Night Market is cash only – have small bills. Try the glutinous rice rolls!
Best Time: Visit on a weekday to dodge the crowds at Yehliu and the market.
