🌾 The distinct colors of Yin Yang Sea
"Yin Yang Sea" is a unique bay located north of the Shuinandong settlement in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The most striking sight here is the influx of minerals from the Jinguashi Mountains, including pyrite and other minerals, along with the insoluble trivalent iron (Fe3+) compounds, into the bay. This creates a striking contrast between the waters, half golden and half azure. The distinct colors resemble the Taoist Yin-Yang diagram, earning it the name "Yin-Yang Sea." This rare sight is one of Ruifang's most iconic natural attractions.
From the Shuinan Cave Observation Deck, you can clearly see the dividing line: azure water on one side, golden yellow on the other, resembling the smudge of ink. This formation, not man-made but a product of time and geography, has become a must-see for photographers and travelers, making it a perfect starting point for a day trip to the Gold Coast.
