Milford Sound, New Zealand

From the moment I set foot on New Zealand's South Island, I could feel how nature breathes and thrives at the edge of the earth. Driving past Christchurch and across the Canterbury Plains, the scenery of sheep grazing under the vast sky and endless meadows was healing in itself, even just by gazing out the window.
Arriving at Mirror Lakes, the tranquil forest and crystal-clear water unfolded like a picture frame. I highly recommend visiting early in the morning. The calmer the wind, the more perfect the reflections become, and with fewer people around, you can truly immerse yourself in the solitude of nature.
Homer Tunnel felt like a secret gateway to another world. After a short but intense passage, the majestic fjords of Milford Sound revealed themselves. Cruising through the mist, the sight of waterfalls, cliffs, and seals was breathtaking. Even rain is no cause for concern—it actually makes the scenery more mystical and dramatic.
The nature of the South Island is not something to merely look at but to truly feel. More than any photograph, the air, sounds, and scents of the place leave a deeper impression. If you're searching for an unparalleled sense of awe, New Zealand's South Island is the answer.
