My main reason for visiting Nihonbashi this time was to explore the “Flowers and Birds” exhibition at the elegant Mitsui Memorial Museum — and it was even more inspiring than I imagined.
The meticulously detailed bird sketches were absolutely captivating; I could have spent hours admiring each one. Every stroke felt alive, and the delicate handwritten notes beside the drawings added a personal, almost intimate layer of meaning.
While photography wasn’t allowed in the “Flowers” section, the tea ceremony utensils on display left a lasting impression — their refined beauty and craftsmanship were truly moving.
The museum itself is also a masterpiece of architecture — calm, sophisticated, and deeply connected to Japanese aesthetics. A must-visit for art and design lovers in Tokyo.
