Okunikko Senjogahara Hiking

"奥" means depth or inside in Japanese.

Nowadays, the original meaning of "home" has changed to a tourist spot or hot spring town in the suburbs or mountains, that is, a place deeper inside the city than the suburbs.

Okunikko As the name suggests, the depth of sunlight

Nikko has always been a place I want to go. In addition to the two shrines and one temple, Oku-Nikko is really suitable for hiking.

But it is best to have two to three days because the hike will take at least 2-3 hours. Some routes may take a whole day. You can take the bus, but the system is really long. There is only one bus. So it is recommended to stay in Yamanaka Lake directly after the hike and soak in the hot springs for a day to rest.

When I went there that day, I met a lot of 7-8 year old children on an autumn outing. They would greet you along the way. It was very interesting.

So there is no need to be too afraid of this hike. Children can also do it.
