Hongshiye Valley is located on the banks of the Huaping River in Datong Ancient Town, southwest of Chishui City. It is in the center of Datong Ancient Town, Sidonggou Scenic Area, and Baoyuan Terraces, about 16 kilometers away from the city.
The Red Stone Valley is world-famous for its unique landscape of red honeycomb-shaped Danxia murals and stone carvings, as well as various red stones and tree ferns in strange shapes such as Buddhas, frogs, and deer, dense bamboo forests, and crystal clear streams and waterfalls.
