Lake Chuzenji was calm and reflective, a peaceful retreat in the mountains. The lake stretched beautifully at the foot of Mt. Nantai, its surface mirroring the sky and autumn foliage. I took a leisurely boat ride, enjoying the crisp air and the surrounding peaks. Onshore, the quaint town offered cozy cafes where I sipped coffee while gazing at the water. The quietness here was a perfect contrast to Tokyo’s hustle. It’s easy to see why Lake Chuzenji has been a favorite summer retreat for diplomats and travelers alike. #mytraveldiary
