Visit Jigokudani in Noboribetsu, Hokkaido.
If you're visiting Noboribetsu Onsen, Hokkaido, Jigokudani is a valley created by a volcanic eruption tens of thousands of years ago. "Hell Valley" is so named because the ground is constantly filled with steam and turbid sulfurous gas. The pungent smell of sulfur and the colorful minerals on its surface create the appearance of a bubbling vent of hell. A wooden boardwalk allows visitors to walk up close and enjoy the valley's unique scenery and feel the geothermal energy. #jigokudani
